Average cost of a round of 25 clays

What are your cost of a round of 25 clays after membership and also what are your membership costs in a club.

My Skeet and trap run around $4.00 after membership.
Membership runs around $100 the first year with $40 and $50 on followup years.

Just wondering what the cost is around the country.
 
For me its about $10 per 90 clays plus a 100 pack of ammo from walmart. I suppose i probably burn about 2 gallons of gas on my way out to the range. One of my friends usually supplies the thrower, but if not then i throw them by hand like how Tom Knapp does.
 
Skeet and trap runs $5 / 25round, member price. $119 per year membership dues.

May sound expensive, but I'm fortunate to have this club. Its 20 minutes south of Silicone Valley. Glad to have anywhere to go, really.

Good thread idea. Should be interesting to compare.

Obviously, shooting fees vary considerably. Many factors contribute to a club's fee structure. Assuming the basic target costs are pretty much the same for all clubs, the big difference may be labor costs. Olddrum1 might have asked if the club has a paid or volunteer staff. In my example, one club is staffed, and the other isn't.

Another factor to consider is the club's basic financial philosophy. I've been on several club boards, and there always seems to the same question: Should the membership fees subsidize targets costs, or should the shooter's fees totally cover them? If the dues are high enough, everyone can shoot for free. ;)

They also have hand cocked practice traps where you buy a box of 135 clays for $18.50 and get to use the traps to your heart's content for no additional charge. Hugely popular.

Both of these are public ranges and both offer discount cards where you pre-pay for 10 rounds and get roughly a 10% discount.

Skeet $3.00 non-members (skeet is open to the public on Sunday afternoons), $2.50 members.

$100.00 initiation fee, $75.00 dues, $50.00 for key to skeet/trap house if you want to use it when club officers aren't there.

200yd covered rifle range, 50 yd covered pistol range with steel targets and two skeet/trap fields.

One club charges 3.00 for around of trap and a 4.00 day fee for non members, members dues are 100.00 per year (also has pistol and rifle ranges). The other club is trap and skeet only has 40.00 membership fee and charges 4.00 for a round of trap or skeet. Looks like I am getting off cheap here in the Spokane WA area.
 
Pawnee Sportsmens Club, Briggsdale Colorado.
$175 yr/family, includes rifle/pistol ranges/cowboy shooting range, trap/skeet/sporting clays.

25 bucks sporting clays and 5 bucks per round of trap or skeet. These are member prices, non-member is 30 bucks sporting clays, and I think 7 bucks for trap and skeet.

There is also a combo membership for the Briggsdale facility and an indoor 8 lane range in Ft. Collins.

The people, though, are priceless. Great bunch of people to shoot and hang out with.

Thanks for your question. It's the same location, at the south side of USMC Air Station Miramar.

Miramar Gun Club, Inc. dba Miramar Trap and Skeet Club dba San Diego Shotgun Sports Assn. Over the years, the club name has changed to be more informative to the public. In the old days, folks would show up at the "gun club" with handguns and/or rifles only to be disappointed.

I'm trying to be optimistic... the shooting operations are temporarily suspended, but the club is open for social activities. Check out the web site for particulars.

Free use of a buddy's land in a valley: Priceless.

One more do-all and a few paving stones later, we'll have a real trap field.
