Availability of Jacketed .312 bullets

I think I have done an exhaustive search over the last six months or so for ANY good jacketed soft point bullets in .312 diameter for my .327 mags and .32 H&R revolvers. I can not find anything except Hornady JHP and rarely Sierra JHP. I have come up empty for any other options, especially in JSP

Does anyone have a source for any other JACKETED bullets in this diameter. I am specifically trying to find a good JSP. However any jacketed option would be wanted if they are priced correctly (under 10 cents ea.)

I am not interested in the various lead or plated options (already have hardcast and Rainier plated) available since I am trying to work up max loads for these platforms. I just don't want to spend 16-18 cents each for plinking rounds and really do not want hollow point right now.

With the release of the Henry .327 lever action, I want to develop a good hunting round for the rifle.
 
Hornady makes 3 weights. (Currently on sale at Midway.) Sierra makes one. Speer makes 2 Gold Dot bullets.
"...under 10 cents ea..." Highly unlikely you'll find any jacketed bullet for that. Plated bullets run a bit less than that, but not by much.
In any case, you can order anything you want through your local gun shop. How long it takes will depend on whether or not his supplier has any in stock. Expect to pay up front too. Buying as much as you can is best. It might get you a quantity discount too. Graf's does that. Buy 5 or more boxes and you get 'em for $17.47 per 100.

Thanks for the reply, but I guess I needed to be clearer on my initial post.
I am aware of those JHP. I am looking for JSP. You can not order what is not made. I am wondering if there is a source or manufacturer for JSP that I am unaware of. I know you can buy them in cartridge form from Federal, Magtech, and perhaps a few others. I just can not seem to find them in component form.

Maybe in Canada you pay more, but I routinely buy jacketed bullets in many calibers for less than 10 cents each.

Me, too.
But not good quality .312" jacketed handgun bullets.
The best deal I've gotten since buying a .327 Federal was $13 / 100 for Hornady 85 gr XTPs. ...And that was 7 years ago. They've only gone up from there.
 
You are not going to find Jacketed SOFT Point in this caliber for a while as a component. The only reason for JSP is the advent of the 327 Mag. Right now the manufacturers are still playing catch up from the previous administration. IIRC Federal was the only Co. that even offered a JSP option and only after the 327 was introduced.
 
I shoot a 3220 marlin with the 85 jhp hornady. the jhp bullet doesn't expand like what we have been brainwashed. neither does typical non premium 38 special bullets in my experience. so keeping this in mind go ahead and use the jhps. jmho. bobn
 
This is a good question and certainly something to be considering if planning to own a 327, tube fed rifle. I doubt if the desired price point will be found, but I will be watching for further information. Now, if I was going to get started loading for a 327 Henry, I expect I would use some of my gas checks by Rimrock. Those are certainly not cheap.

That is interesting that you did not get good expansion. What velocity? I would probably guess the opposite and a fragmented Hornady JHP.

BTW, I am not stuck on price for components that much. As you know, one of the benefits to reloading is being able to shoot more by bringing the cost per round down. If bullets alone for JSP are going to run me 25 cents each, then I might as well buy American Eagle with the JSP (in new cases) for less than 50 cents a round and stop looking for bullets. If I add up the price of new Starline brass, .25c (granted that you will get many reloads from one case - so diminished cost with each firing), primer, .03c, powder, .05c, bullet, .25c = .55 cents. That is why I set my arbitrary price per bullet at @ 10c each. If 17c is all that is available, I have choices to make.

I would guess the modest velocity I load it for. I like a quiet but accurate non big game vermin dispatcher. the 32 caliber hole solves lots of problems without needing velocity of a 222/223.

Your looking to buy .312 jacketed SP for .10 to .17 cents each?
I don't know of any online or store front business that sells jacketed SP {seconds} anymore.

Then it was not a matter of "brain washing" but rather a choice to shoot at a velocity at which one should not expect good hollow point performance.
