Hey guys! I was wondering what other peoples opinions on carrying firearms in a motor vehicle are, as well as what some other peoples methods of making it easier/more effective may be. Handguns, long guns, anything counts if you regularly stow it in your vehicle! Pics would also be very welcome I'm sure! Thanks guys!

What you can do legally varies by state, so be sure to check local laws.

With my disclaimer out of the way, I'll address your actual question.

In my home state, Washington, if you have a concealed carry permit you can carry a loaded pistol in your car without having to unload it or store it locked up. I often use a bladetech paddle holster that fits securely to my seat belt that way my pistol was out of my waistband and in a cross draw position. I found that to be the most comfortable way for me to travel any length of time in my car. It was easy and cheap, I think the holster was $20.

Other than that, I've usually just kept my pistol in the center console or glove box if it wasn't staying on my person.

Aye, you bring up a good point Irish. :o I understand that vehicle carry laws vary by state and even by city depending on your state preemption laws. Anyone who can legally carry in your vehicle (any vehicle), please feel free to share your advice/experiences!

A black wash cloth fits over it nicely.

Yup still have a can holder that you can barely see on the right of the side view plus two more behind the center console so don't lose out on a big gulp lol.

built in holster

If its legal use the pouch behind the passenger seat..it will be concealed and is suprisingly fast to aquire in the drivers seat, just reach around the passenger seat. When you are pulled over and tell the officer you have weapon and CCP. I have used this method I dont carry in the car often but when i do, i use it, it seems out of reach but is not.

I don't ever 'keep' a gun in a vehicle, too easily stolen that way. When I'm driving though, usually in a holster between the center console and seat. Glovebox during our work schedule.

I keep my revolver in the little storage compartment located on the door of my truck. (I keep my wallet and registration/insurance paperwork in the center console.)

This arrangement allows me to keep the gun away from a passengers who might be curious about it, but still allows me very easy access to it. If I get stopped, I can readily hand the officer the required paperwork and not have to pass over the gun.

Cup holder between the seats with the lid open. If stopped by police just close the lid and all is good with regards to FLA law.
