Autoloaders and 2 3/4 Shells

Will and auto loading shotgun (in particular, the Mossberg 935 or Winchester 11-87) that are chambered for 3 1/2 shells use 2 3/4 inch shells reliably? It doesn't seem as if the Mossberg 935 will.

Thanks...Chuck

Mossberg 935 definitely does NOT (as you point out). It wasn't designed to. Benelli's inertia system guns, Browning Gold, and Winchester SuperX2 should all cycle 2.75s pretty well, to varying degrees, except perhaps light 'tactical' loads. Beretta 390/391 and Rem 1187 should as well, but perhaps not as well as the first 3 mentioned. If you want *very* reliable cycling with 2.75s, get a shotgun whose design parameters encompass ONLY 2.75s & 3.0s, not 3.5s. That's what I did.

Good advice and probably what I'll do. I really don't have a need for 3.5" for hunting purposes. I just figured if it was available, I might have the need in the future. My needs will be with 2.75" and 3" (small game, turkey, deer) and will need the shotgun to feed the 2.75" reliably.

Thanks for all of the information.
