Saw the other post on these, I have an all stainless 4013 Tactical model "shorty .40" and absolutly love it
I am thinking of having it hyperported, or even just standard ported, first is this possible on this model with the extremly heavy and massive slide( it is a chunk)and second is this benificial and practical on autos? I have no experience with auto porting

thanks

IAJack, I'd have to say that it would help. I can tell a huge difference in shooting a Springfield V-10 and an Officer's Model. I'd recommend the folks at MagnaPort for the job. George

When I was doing some chamber work with the ported barrel on my 9mm Hi-Power, it was still having extraction problems, so after firing about 100 rounds, I pulled the ported barrel out and re-installed the factory barrel, so at least the trip to the range wouldn’t be a complete waste. The first shot out of the stock barrel was amazed me! At that time, I knew that porting made quite a difference in recoil and muzzle-rise, but I had no idea how much a well designed and executed porting job would do. It’s like a completely different gun. It
has been more than worth the time and money the ported barrel required. The comfort
level doubles! The “Hyperport” system uses Rotating EDM type machining, and looks like
a great (if not the best) porting method to me, but good old “Magnaporting” will
make a world of difference in any pistol. In your “Shorty-Fourty” I’d say it’s a must have. Makes things a lot easier on the wrist! I say go for it.- Good Luck!- Dakotan

I recently ported a Sgma 40 through the slide for one of my customers.. It turned out great!
