As noted, Browning stopped making the A-5 shotgun 11 years ago. And sales of the shotgun the last 12 years that it was on the market were quite low. By the late 80's, people were turning to other shotguns.

Browning themselves had developed newer models, such as the Model 2000, which was sold from 1974 to 1983. However, in 1987, Browning came out with the A-500, and then in 1990, they introduced the A-500G. These became their primary semiauto shotguns that they marketed.

The A-500 and A-500G were not that successful, though. They were both sold until 1993, when the Browning Gold semiauto shotguns were introduced.

The Browning A-5 was a favorite shotgun of gangsters in the 1930's Many of them sawed off the barrels and the stocks too, to make a very deadly and compact short range weapon.

A sawed off 20 gauge A-5 was Bonnie Parker's favorite gun. You have probably seen this famous photo taken of Bonnie and Clyde, which shows her jokingly pointing her A-5 at Clyde:

The Nordic is the only magazine extension tube that I have heard of as well. It will add another 5 rounds to your magazine, giving it a total capacity of 9 rounds. Plus 1 in the chamber will actually give you 10 rounds.

www.midwayusa.com has them in stock for $80
