Authenticate a part on a 70's era Colt GCNM

Just bought a "presumably all original" gun in excellent condition.  Were they ever offered with a checkered, matte finish (similar to the finish on the underside of the frame) slide stop or was this non-original part "omitted" by the seller?

If I don't have an OEM slide stop, can you guys recommend a place to get authentic Colt parts, and preferably period specific (in this case 70's era) components?
Thanks guys.

Hello and welcome Carolina65. I purchased several '70 Series Gold Cups new back in the day. None had the matte/checkered slide stop you describe. I think Colt is pretty much out of the parts business. I would check Gun Parts Corp, Brownells, MidWay, Jack First, etc. for an original slide stop....

Dunno exactly when yours was made, but here is a picture of my 1974 Gold Cup (on top). As you can see the slide stop has a polished finish.

So's my ACE of the same period and I recall the GC I owned had a polished slide stop.

Polishing is skilled work and there are a lot of dull parts on new guns much more expensive than a Colt.
