Gunter, sounds much like here in Finland. I think it is common to European countries that knives are mostly used as homicide weapons, guns are much less common in that "role" than in the USA. This includes also countries with high number of guns in proportion to population, like Finland (about 2.5 million guns for 5 million people).
Besides a knife (or knives) a typical homicide here includes use (often abuse) of alcohol.
