Australias gun Ban

Cuz

New member
About a week or so ago I seen a commercial on the television (I think it was Fox Network)about Australias gun ban, and if it was working or not...can anyone tell me if it showed results in our favor or the antis? Does anyone know if there is info pertaining to this show on the www?
Thanks, Cuz

the program in question was theO'Reilly Factor. The host interviewed some info lackey from his own news organization who happens to be Australian, but living in the US.

The Lackey stated that Australians gladly turned in their guns when the Australian Govt asked them to!

O Reilly usually has a good program, but this segment was a bust. Program wasn't worth watching.

Gladly handed in our guns??? Where's those g*damn blood pressure pills.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again -- I saw one old man (a WWII veteran) hand in his shotgun with tears streaming down his face. His wife had bought it for him just before she died. Gladly handed in our guns? It caused one of the biggest riffs in Australian society since the Vietnam War era.

If you want solid info on the stats re the NRA video, I suggest you start here.

Gladly turn them in or your busted. Thats a little closer to the truth.

O'Reilly doesn't usually have a good program. He's just one more political hack. He's against everything Clinton without thinking about why and he's generally for anything the right wing wants, again without much apparent thought.

He recently told a guest that he thought random highway checkpoints were just fine as part of the war on drugs and that his viewers would agree. In fact, he said it was SILLY to worry about such things. Hey, sure, it's only the 4th Amendment. What the hell, if it'll keep some guy from getting high in his bedroom later that night, I'm all for it.

I thought Fox news was promising but they've turned into worse shills for the right than the other networks are for the left. Didn't take 'em long either.

I disagree about O'Reilly. He calls himself a Libertarian, but leans more to conservatism. He normally has a good program, has held some of the Clinton toadie's feet to the fire. But he is uninterested in the RKBA debate.

I would have liked to see the "Australian" Journalist on Hannity & colmes. Hannity would have eaten him alive.

My big gripe is that they did not interview an Australian gun owner! I bet if they did the US public would learn some interesting new Australian slang.
