Now, they don't even trust their subjects with sharp objects. He says that currently, it's only illegal if a person can give a good enough excuse. "I'm a butcher, these are tools of the trade." "I might need to cut a piece of rope,hose, etc." However, self-defense is NOT GOOD ENOUGH. He practically gloats that people have been successfully prosecuted for carrying a knife for protection.
Thank goodness nothing like that could ever happen here....
