Well, here's the next step:

I post on a Law Enforcement website, and an officer from Australia has said that the current legislature in that fine land down under are planning to outlaw the carrying of....

Now, they don't even trust their subjects with sharp objects. He says that currently, it's only illegal if a person can give a good enough excuse. "I'm a butcher, these are tools of the trade." "I might need to cut a piece of rope,hose, etc." However, self-defense is NOT GOOD ENOUGH. He practically gloats that people have been successfully prosecuted for carrying a knife for protection.

Thank goodness nothing like that could ever happen here....:rolleyes:
 
As much as I hate to say it, I'm really not all that surprised about this. Australia is running at full speed in the wrong direction. I wonder if it will happen as fast here, or if our government will try to make it less noticeable by taking it slow.....
 
this is getting out of hand, i wonder when they will out law rat tail combs & fingernail files.
 
I don't know what it will be but I guarantee that something will happen. The pendullum will swing back. Sure it could happen here too. Anyone who thinks it couldn't better wake up. We will be fighting to keep our guns for the rest of our lives. To think otherwise is to underestimate the enemy and that is always a fatal mistake. Other than the fight it is our duty to encourage young people to understand the need for the right to keep and bear arms. Australia may be lost for now but it will come back, something will happen. It always does.
