Aussie Glocks "faulty"

Yeah, right ... sure they are.

From yesterday's Sunday Times

<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>Guns faulty

NEW high-powered (sic) guns used by Queensland police have repeatedly gone off by accident. Incident reports show the new Glock pistols had "accidentally discharged" in seven separate incidents since November 1998.[/quote]

This says more to me about the level of training (or lack thereof) than any supposed "fault" in the Glock design.

And yet the police services nationwide set themselves up as the fount of all knowledge when it comes to "letting" us have firearms.

Perhaps the trigger locks should be mounted on their fingers???

You should see how little training they get.
Any auto's would give them trouble---even revolvers gave them grief.
I don't much care for Glocks myself, but I do know that if you don't pull the trigger thru
they don't go off.

I scanned the full article & it can be read either in the Handgun Forum or http://www.angelfire.com/id/parachat/new2.jpg

An Aussie Police Officer even managed to shoot himself in the CHEST with his REVOLVER around 12mths ago.
Sadly he didn't survive :(

Hopefully 6000+ E-mails might drive home the point of sloppy story writing & the ignorance of POOR weapon handling.

I've seen a picture of a Glock that supposedly came from the factory with a frame-mounted safety lever. It was (according to the source) made for a large police contract in Australia.

True?
