Augila Super Maximum 22LR - copper coated?

I just bought 5 boxes of these 22LRs at a gun show this weekend for 3$ a box, to try out on the squirrels. For some odd reason, my Browning rifle LOVES high-velocity ammo. It seems like the faster it is, the better it shoots. It loves CCI Stingers, Remington Yellow Jackets, and Quik-Shoks. I was all revved up to use these new bullets, but when I got them home it looks likethey're coated with something other than copper, something a little darker. Are they copper coated? I hate to shoot uncoated bullets because they make a rifle unbearable to clean afterwards.

Also, if you've used these bullets, how did you like them? They seem like a good choice for a defense round in, say, a NAA 22LR mini-revolver.

THANKS!

Greetings Big Al,

I bought a brick of these. Shot about half in my Ruger Mk II and my Buck Mark. They are very hot rounds; I don't know what that stuff is either, but they aren't all that dirty to clean up after.

There have been reports posted here of older guns (rifles) being damaged by the use of these rounds, perhaps because of loading inconsistencies. I'm saving the rest of mine for varminting, not target shooting.

Regards,

Ledbetter
