About what time does the rush hour start in Knoxville?

I will be traveling through early Friday morning on my way to North Carolina, and I'd like to know about what hours it usually runs. I'll be leaving North Georgia in time to arrive at Knoxville around 7am. What am I up against?

I've only been trough Knoxville several times, but I would say you would be safe at 7 a.m. I-40 has had a lot of work on it. Have you gone to the DOT sites for TN and NC?

Downtown (I-75/I-40 interchange) by 7:00 am, you should be OK. Coming back from NC, be careful. Afternoons 4-7 pm can be a mess.
