I am passing on this alert below from SCOPE the NY gunrights org. PLEASE, PLEASE, respond to this. We have two weeks to sink or swim. If you can't find your senator's address or phone number, I'll find it for you. I'll send you a sample letter if you wish -- you only need a couple of sentences saying you oppose legislation banning semi-automatic weapons, mandatory storage and trigger locks, registration, yadda, yadda. Get your friends and spouse to write. Also, motivate everyone at your range. Make sure your local gunshops are telling their customers.

Tuesday, May 30, 2000 the New York State legislature will reconvene.
The legislature is scheduled to recess on June 14, 2000. We can count
on an all out effort by the gun banners to press their agenda
relentlessly over the next two weeks. Our calls and letters to New
York's 61 state senators have had an immense impact. However, now is
not the time, nor can we afford to let up now.
Please continue your calls to Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno
(1-518-455-3191) and your local state senator. Urge them to oppose
Governor Pataki’s 5-Point Gun Control Plan (S7033) and any other gun
control proposals.

You cannot call your senator or Senator Bruno to often. Call and call
again. Please urge your friends and family to call also. Share this
