Attention Glock Fans!

Hard Ball

Harris Publications (Combat Hanguns) has just published an annual "Glock Automatic Pistols 2000" entirely devoted to Glock automatic pisto;s. If you are a Glock fan you will love it!

Actually, they publish it every year about the last week of January. If you can't find a copy on your local bookshelves, a free copy can be obtained by calling Glock directly and requesting a "Glock Annual".

I have to say, of the five or so years that they have been doing the Glock Annual, this is without a doubt the worst issue. Nothing new in it at all.

It may not be very good, but I'll get it anyway. I used to worry about a fire causing my ammo to go off. Now I'm much more scared of all the books/magazines/manuals I have lying around! Maybe a fire sprinkler system is in order... ;)

Yes, it's a disguised extensive ad. But it is entertaining if you like Glocks as I do. There ain't much interesting in there in terms of pistol features, though - they all just seem to look and work alike. I do enjoy the torture test data.

Yeah, I bought this year's issue, being a soon-to-be Glock owner I'm excited enough to waste money on a magazine that isn't. Blah blah blah--"This police department in a small Texas rich town has never had to use its Glock 35's, but they love 'em . . ."

The only thing that caused any excitement over at Glocktalk was Gaston Glock's column talking about how happy they were to be helping the federal government track dangerous criminals.

I havent seen it yet, but i wasnt too impressed with the previous issue either...

It is for sure a Glock advertising medium.

Sometimes i really wonder what ol Gaston is thinking...

Gaston!!!

It would be sooooooo easy to make that mag a really cool magazine... all Gaston has to do is put a bunch of really cool articals in there, and God knows Gaston has the freaking money! But he just has to be PC. Gagggg.....

Reality ALWAYS takes precedence.

I really admire it's accuracy. At no place (articles or catalogue section) does it admit the G22/23/27 fire the .40 S&W or the G31/32/33 fires the .357 Sig. No wonder they can't admit the G22/23 has a barrel problem. I guess insecurity starts at the top.

OK - let me clue you in.

First - many gun rags are light on real content, they are basically infomercials.

So solution - one goes to Barnes and Noble
and you can read in a nice chair with a mocha latte about $60 bucks of gun rags for free each month.

Next - the annual is probably good for ego stroking of the new Glock owner. It's like Bride's Magazine - you get it for a little bit.

Gun rags recycle the article about every three years as it is calculate that there is a group that moves in and out of them.

Once you have Glock - how many article can one really write that have really new stuff in them. We know how they work and the best loads. So the 34 is longer - snooze.
