Attention Arcus Owners

I have an arcus and I just became aware of a real problem with the slidestop battering the slide. I thought I would pass this along. If you look at the cutout on the slide for the slidestop, it's cut at a 90 degree angle at the rear and about at 45 degrees at the front of the cutout. After you fire the last round in the mag, as the slide is going rearward, the slidestop comes up. The front part of the cutout (45 degree part) contacts the slidestop when the slide goes fully rearward. This is where the battering of the slide occurs. The problem is with the way the slidestop is machined. If I remember correctly on fn highpower's the slidestop is machined with the same angle as the forward portion of the slidestop cut out. On the arcus it is not. It has a very sharp 90 degree angle that pounds the forward portion of the slidestop opening. I was just starting to see the signs of this occuring on my slide. It looked like it would really damage the slide if I were to continue to shoot the gun with that slidestop. I took and filed my slidestop to conform to the opening in the slide then cold blued it. I going to keep my eyes open for a fn slidestop to replace mine.

Thanks for the info... You are correct. I have the same problem. I had not even noticed but I will fix her up right. Take Care
