Couldn't find this anywhere here when I looked, sorry if its old news but I just heard about it. It makes me feel safer already! From the Federalis email letter.
While all eyes were on the convention (except, of course, for those in
the back of our editor's head) the House of Commons approved a massive
appropriations bill that included nearly $30 billion dollars for the
Treasury Department, including a 23% increase in funding for the
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms to hire 600 new national
police agents to enforce their ever-expanding gun restrictions. This,
on the heels of the Waco findings.... Oh, House members also
concealed their pay raise as part of this appropriation.
