Astra Constable HELP

I recently bought a astra constable. Got it home and not firing. Took it down to clean and noticed the trigger bar just hangs there, not engaging anything. What holds the trigger bar up in place against the hammer? Is it a spring and if so where would it go? Do the grips have anything to do with the placement of bar? Thanks for any info. I have looked at exploded views online and still can not figure it out.

IIRC, the Astra has a set up inspired by the Walther PP in that there is an internal coil spring contained in the trigger, one leg of which bears on a stud on the inside of the trigger bar and gives it upward torque. Check and see if that spring is still in the trigger and, if so, the longer leg is bearing on that stud on the inside of the trigger bar.

gyvel, thanks for the info. It is the spring end bent downward. I was able to pull it around to engage the trigger bar. Thanks again. This is a great forum and I am glad to be a member!
