'assault weapons' ban really works!

Anyone see the video of DC bank robbers carrying AKs out to the getaway van?

Sort of irked me on several levels:

1) is this CNN trying to show us just how dangerous 'assault weapons' really are? I mean, it's not very spectacular footage and as they aired it, the gist of it seemed to be what rifles they were carrying...not who to call if you've seen them, what to look for, etc.

2) Didn't that Feinstein push the ban on guns like this in order to keep them off the streets? If the ban keeps them off the streets, how come, post ban, I'm looking at footage of criminals with these guns?

Sorry if this is too elementary for you guys, I just didn't have anyone else to talk to about it and wanted to weigh in.

No, because obviously we need even more laws to make it even harder for this to happen. :barf:

Does it suprprise you that the media is so biased?

Yeah, obviously it's a no-win for us from the get-go with the 10 year HDR ban: If there's not a lot of MPSs (mass public shootings), then behold! - it worked and must be renewed. If there ARE some MPSs, then obviously it's not strong enough, and must be renewed AND stricter than before. Fortunately, since this is an election year, and since Algore got burned in Tennessee, Florida, and a few other states on gun control, you probably won't see it renewed until at least the January session, which gives us time (for now) to buy a few mags and HDRs. We must keep up the fight continually however, as it's sure to rear its ugly head again soon, especially if there are any more highly-publicized MPSs.

The fact of the matter is, any attempt at peasant control (mislabled "gun control") that is, in substance ANY type of BAN on a gun or ammo or gun accessory is nothing but needless, worthless, ineffective step down the slippery slope to ultimate complete disarmament, which in turn will lead to the decay and eventually demise of a society, not to mention a violation of our 2nd amendment rights and the cause of more lost lives than saved, both in the near term and the long term. When it comes to BANS on ownership, there is NO reasonable amount - there is no amount that makes sense.

Yeah, 'automatic weapons' was exactly what CNN said.

In the clip, you can clearly see the AK and 30-40 rd. mags.

It seems like consistency would rule and you'd be able to show this to Feinstein and say, 'see, you banned them and they are still in use by criminals...that because criminals don't obey laws'.

Sort of steams me...
