ASM Remmy with Aluminum Frame

I received a "BM" proof marked 1999 Remmy that has a painted aluminum frame that is marked "SM Black Powder Only CAL .44 Made in Italy" on the barrel (and the "S" is light as if only partial). Otherwise it is very nice with pronounced rifling, nice case colors (on the hammer and hand), pleasant trigger, small grips, a dovetailed front sight, deep crosshatching on the hammer spur and chamfered chambers. Even the paint job looks thick and very nicely done, probably moreso because it's hardly been fired.
Both the frame and the barrel are proof marked.
There's a serial number beginning with the letter "E" stamped on the bottom of the grip frame and the number "300" is stamped on the barrel under the loading lever.
Who has ever heard of an ASM Remmy having an aluminum frame, or any other Remmy having one?

I have never seen or heared of one before but I have an EMF "New Dakota Model" in .357 that was made by ASM. It has one of the best fit and finishes of any single action that I have seen. From what I remember the ASMs were closer to being a Colt part wise that any of the other replicas. All of the ones that I saw had an excellent finish on them. On my .357 I eventually had to replace the hammer because the timming was off and the cam was worn down and I could not find any ASM replacements so I got an 'In the white' Pietta hammer and finished it myself. It looks pretty good but does not have the nice case coloring that the original had. From your pictures your Remy looks very nice and hopefully you will not need to replace anything. I am curious as to how the gun feels and shoots since it is made of aluminum. I hope that you enjoy your new pistol.

Someone with a lot of materials expertise suggested that the frame was cast with a non-magnetic stainless steel.
At 2.0 lbs without the cylinder, it weighs more than his steel frame Remmy without the cylinder.
So it appears that the mystery is solved.
ASM made other stainless C&B's, so maybe this was a special run that was somehow indicated by the serial number or the number on the underside of the barrel.
I can only imagine that they painted it with an epoxy type of paint to save on the finshing costs like Uberti did with their Millenium model.
Lastly the frame has a casting mark that can be seen just above the trigger guard.

Stainless is a LOT harder than aluminum. A scratch test inside the grip frame or under the bolt spring recess should answer that for sure.

So, this might be a painted stainless frame with blued steel parts? Odd. But even "odder" would be if it were an aluminum frame!

Hi
Didn't saw any aluminium frame on a Black Powder revovler. But, i'm seeking if it ever did it.
I'm just asking the last picture, about the proof. I can't see it very well, but that's looks like Uberti logo, isn't it?
You tell us about ASM of manufacturing.
