I've at one point in life owned a "Blue Book of Firearms" useful for the sake of knowing MSRP and other factors in guns being marked up variably by FFL licensees concerned with profitability and the law on such things first and foremost, and the S&W R8 was featured prominently in what few pictures this edition of the book as a reference material sported inside its covers, and not merely on, but the outside of, them.
I've little experience with firearms for being pro-gun since age 13 or 14, but I am curious, seeing at the 686 Plus is almost as high in cylinder capacity at the name R8 seems to imply, and, arguably, more renowned as a firearm by history and critical/consumer reception of it as a product.
