I know that I could research this and find the answer.

So I am!

I'm going to the best source of information I can think of and that would be this forum.

Pitted against each other for performance values, how does a 230 gr. .45 acp hydrashock from a 5" 1911 stack up against a 147 gr. 38spl. +P hydrashock from a 4" revolver at 10 to 30 ft.?

I carry a .38 as my EDC almost every day...
...But the .45 wins hands down in any loading.

Isn't 147gr an odd weight for .38 Spl? I think I have only seen wadcutters at this weight.
