Ashley "big-dots" on a S&W 342PD ??

I've heard that Ashley Express "big-dot" tritium sights can be installed on a Smith and Wesson mod 342PD, in place of the stock orange "Hi-Viz" sights. I have'nt taken a real close look at the 342PD so don't know if the front sights are pinned or integral.

My question is: Has anyone out there done this modification or know someone who has? Can someone like myself, who has a modicum of mechanical skill, install Ashley tritium big-dots or is this a job for a professional gunsmith?

Also, doing a search and looking into shooting directories does not turn up any website for Ashley Express sights. Can anyone direct me?

Thanks.

When you "take a real close look at the 342PD", you will find that it has a dull red ramp front sight, not a 'stock orange "Hi-Viz" sight'.

There are little holes on either side of the front red ramp sight on my 342PD. Does that indicate it is "pinned"?

My buddy has a 342 w/the standard Ashley front sight. You can replace the sight yourself. With the right tools you might not leave any marks :)

It really is a simple job though.

does AO make a rear sight for Jframes w/ adjustable sights?

Their website lookup feature seems to be down temporarily since the redesign. I got a 60-10, 3"bbl, adjustable rear sight and I been thinking about these myself (24/7 model) anybody got a catalog that can lookup to see if they make a relacement for the rear sight as well?

Thanks
