Greetings,

Did ya all see Aschcroft on Larry King Live tonight? I think he came off as very pro-gun rights. Punish the criminals with the existing laws and leave the good guys alone was the jist of his statements. That was great!

Later,

Mike

Do any of you ever get the feeling you are a yo-yo???
And somebody ELSE has your string wrapped around their finger???.
Black, to White, Day to Night............
kinda like holding your breath for 8 years, and then getting to exhale, and take in a fresh batch............

Ashcroft

I stayed up just to watch Larry King. After seeing and listening to our new Attorney General, I realized how bad the democrats villified this fine man during the nomination hearings. John Ashcroft actually said it on national television, that law abiding citizens have a Constitutional right to own guns. That is what a true attorney general is supposed to do, protect the rights of the people as well as enforce the laws. As far as I am concerned, Bush made an excellent choice when he picked Ashcroft. After 8 years of Clinton/Reno attempting to dismantle the 2nd Amendment, I feel good about being an American again!

A brief review of some of what Ashcroft said can be found here: http://www.postnet.com/postnet/stor...gun rights in interview with CNN's Larry King

A few quotes:

"Law-abiding citizens have a right under our Constitution to have firearms," Ashcroft said during an interview on CNN's "Larry King Live," "but there's no reason for us to look the other way when people misuse them and commit crimes. We should nail them."

and

"These fundamental things are the kinds of protections of persons, their rights and their property that individual citizens have the right to expect of government," Ashcroft said. "I want to make the Justice Department a place where they get it."

Well, other than the fact that the right exists independent of the Constitution, it's pretty good to hear this from the AG of the U.S. I'll be really impressed when the Waco atrocity is investigated (FOR REAL this time).
