ARSENAL VS NHM-90 Need help please

I have Norinco NHM-90 and a CZ-52.

The Ak has 1 mag, 3 position sling, Like new condition. 200 rounds shot
The CZ is amazing quality...never seen one like this. 2 mags

A guy wants to trade a LNIB not fired Arsenal SGL 21.....

I love the look of the arsenal, but I love the look and build of my NHM90 (its really beasty, not like a wasr) and i could easily put a ATI stock on it....

Should I do the trade? I really think its the same value really, I honestly have heard bad things about arsenal in the early 2006-2009 era, should I make this deal

The arsenal is just a converted Sagia. Hey they are nice but it's not any better or most important rare at all. Just compaired a new sagia I bought to my Mak 90 Norinco last weekend. I would not trade it for two sagia's. The Mak is just a great quality rifle . I know the arsenal has had the conversion work done to it and it's a good Russian rifle. But you can buy one any where, there's a reason he wants to trade.

I wouldn't trade. Like Pert said, Arsenal are pretty easy to come by, mor ethan likely you can get one anytime you like. Your Norinco is more rare, and has a certain cool factor just because it's incommon.

I vote for keeping the Norinc. But please don't put a ATI stock on it.

Nice pic

Yes yes yes keep it original don't change that stock. If you want different stocks buy a Sagia and dress it up and convert it yourself. You can take your time and spend a little as you go.

I wish. Lol.

I have to sell my big screen tv for christmas guys, with only the "reassurance" we "may" get it back next year lol. You do what you gotta....

Anyways, I love the stock. But I want a tactical Rifle. So I thought Upgrade it, trade it off for something better or keep it.

You can see in the pictures...the blueing is unlike ANYthing Ive seen in a ak...even my illusive Arsenal

I would do it.

Figure the NHM is worth $450 and the CZ-52 worth $150. The SGLs are going in the $700 neighborhood.

You'll certainly get more options, be they tacticool, alternate stocks, or otherwise, with the SGL.

I could go either way on this deal. SGLs are a little over $800 now after shipping and transfer fees, so the value is good. I would say that the Arsenal is probably better quality, but an AK can only get so much better, ya know.

Well...to my dismay...........

Its extremely illegal to put a tac stock on a norinco apparently. Im not sure why, but its not compliant?

Guess if im modding I should look at my gun laws. How ever bull**** they may be

Thank you all for your valued opinion, but I am keeping the NHM

To legally convert your NHM, you'd just have to replace some Chinese parts with U.S. parts so that it isn't considered a foreign rifle. You can have no more than 10-foreign components, so for an AK with a muzzle attachment, you'd need at least 6-U.S. parts. So, if you bought a new stock set, get U.S. made, then add a U.S. made hammer/trigger/disconnector for about $40 and you'd be legal.

I'd stick with the NHM also...the value of the Chinese aks have been skyrocketing the past year or so. They also have a thicker receiver. My only dislike is that they rust so easy.

Thank you all for your valued opinion, but I am keeping the NHM

Smart man.

Thicker barrel. Thicker reciever, more Ak-47...less AKM.

The Saiga and the SGL "Arsenal" series use a AKM-74 type bolt and carrier in the gun...it is smaller and less robust than even a romanian AKM part due to the fact that it is a machined out smaller 74' bolt.

The flip side is the Saiga/Arsenal's ( izmash) have a good rep with accuracy. The problems you talk about ( 2006-2009) were with the stamped BULGARIAN arsenal guns ( yes the real arsenal rifles like the 107 /106 etc) but never the MILLED ones, they were always cream of the crop.

That is pretty close to an unconverted SGL-21...ok no dimples and it has a step in the chaimber...all cosmetic.

922r

You can put a conventional ak type stock and pistol grip, legally, by gaining an understanding of the "parts count law", sometimes called 922r compliant.

USA buttstock ,handguards, pistol grip, and a tapco trigger group should about do it, and allow you to use import surplus mags.

Read up, there are other options.
