AR's at Dicks Sports

Took a quick run across the border into Ohio today and stopped at Dicks and Gander Mountain to look around. The guy at Dicks said that about the month ago the top brass came in and pulled all the AR's off the shelves. He said that the top guys said they'd never sell them at Dicks again ( at least for a long time). Also no ammo but a few 9mm boxes at $40 each.

Gander Mountain said they were getting in a shipment of some Colts and Bushmasters but I didn't ask the cost or how many we're coming. A good amount of handgun ammo but no bulk packs, just defensive brands. No .22 or .223 of course. As I was walking out a guy (customer) asked me if I " was in the market or an AR". We talked for a little bit and found out he wanted $2000 for an old per-ban AR. I told him thanks but no thanks. Anyone else run into AR stockers at the gun shop?

Don't think you will find them at most gun shops, someone told me gunshops are listing them on gunsofamerica/gunbroker etc.. to sell to people who will pay $2000-$3000+ for them.

Why would you sell something in your shop for $1300 when online someone will pay double?

Was at my local range last week and they had a couple of ARs tagged at $2200. A few weeks before they were tagged at $900 to $1000!

One of the LGS in my area has ARs on the wall. They just put a $650 CMMG up for $1,300 and sold it within two days. The rest are used and at $1,800-$1,900. Another shop I frequent has two entry level Colt ARs for $2,850. I think they may have to eat them at that price. I sure wish I would have bought that Rock River before Thanksgiving. Oh, well, I have one AR anyway.

there are some in Texas

I saw several AR variants at Texas gun shop in Corpus Christi,Texas friday the 25th but I was scared to look at the price. I was afraid it would make feel small and poor and such.
