AR's and AK's at SOG

As you may have read in my other post, I was looking at buying a SAR, but I just looked at the SOG website and saw that they have a new-style Izhmash AK for $349.95. I couldn't help but think that it would be worth the extra $100 for one of these over a SAR but I wanted to see if folks have had any luck with them.

Also, and this may be an AR15.com question, has anyone ever seen or shot a CIA receiver for an AR like the one advertised at www.southernohioguns.com? This seems like it may be too good to be true, and such things usually are!

Adventurer_96 Without question the so called russian ak's are superior to the sar's. These guns are actually converted saiga's that will accept hi caps. Federal arms sold out in one week. I own both types you refer to, the saiga is much nicer. As I understand Hesse is doing the conversion But it seems fairly basic so hopefully they wont screw it up.
 
Converted SAIGA

My roommate ordered one of those, in 7.62x39, with a 20" barrel, from Federal Arms, they said it'd take six weeks. How well made are they? He's worried about trigger slap, primarily (the Maadi AK I had used to have it, BAD)..
