Arrested for stealing political signs...

Arlington, Virginia, a hotbed of liberal whining and sniveling, is also home to a lot of pussies who don't want to let others participate in the process we call voting...

Over the past several weeks, several thousand signs for Republican candidates have been stolen from private property (businesses and homes), always in the dead of night. Many places, including the place I note below, have been hit several times.

A very good, right thinking friend of mine lives in Arlington. When he and his wife are away (such as this weekend) I look after their house.

Drove up last night, and all the yard signs were gone again, so I walked next door to speak to the neighbor, a county Republican Committee member. He said that no one caught the people who cleaned out their street, but he told me that early Saturday morning a county cop stopped a car that was driving oddly. The driver, a woman, had between 35 and 40 Republican yard signs in her car. She claimed that the Republican county leadership was running low on signs, so they sent her out to get some of the ones that were bunched up at intersections.

What got the cop's interest, though, were all the "Vote Gore in 2000" etc., bumperstickers on the car.

So, the cop called the county Republican offices. Woman was lying through her teeth, and was one of the people stealing signs.

Here's the GREAT part.

The woman had enough signs in the back of her car that it topped $200, meaning that she has been charged with FELONY THEFT!

Nikita Khrushchev predicted confidently in a speech in Bucharest, Rumania on June 19, 1962 that: " The United States will eventually fly the Communist Red Flag...the American people will hoist it themselves."

"Someone" has spent the this primary and general election cycle by placing home-made signs in front of the larger signs from candidates whom they don't like. They print off things like "LIBERAL," "R.I.N.O" (Republican In Name Only, for those of you who don't know), as well as "Looks Good In A Speedo," and "I am NOT Gay!" just for fun. It appears that these activists have purchased a can of spray-on 3M adhesive spray and tack them to pieces of cardboard. They drive stakes into the ground and then staple the signs to the stakes just inches in front of the targetted signs.

I have no idea how many votes this is worth, but someone thinks they are significant since the people who get hit by the Roving Band of Merry Rogue Pamphleteers see to it that the stakes are yanked out of the ground, or the cardboard is ripped off of the stake. Some of the signs have been seen stomped into the gravel (out of anger, perhaps?).

I guess it breaks up the monotony of a staid campaign.

:D

I saw the funniest thing the other day.

While at the range, a guy came up with a Gore yard sign and planted it down range and used it to hang his targets on!

A friend running for county commissioner and me were accused by some liberal whacko of doing that the other day. Of course we didn't but it seems the county picked up some signs for not being in the propper places and the liberal just assumed that we were responsible, evidentely this is something they are so familiar with they automatically think of it first.
