Armscor 1911 .40S&W

Good day,

I need advice.

Live it South Africa

at my local dealer I have seen an Armscor 1911 pistol chambered in 40S&W with a double column magazine, made out of stainless. It is still brand new. Very simular to a paraordnance P16.40. I can get it for R7000 ( just as a guideline for the price, a G17gen3 goes for R11000 here in SA)

My question to those who know the Armscor pistol, is it a good gun? Because no-one I know here in SA knows anything about this gun.

My intention is to use it for standard division in IPSC.

Any advice would be appreciated

Battling to resize photo on smart phone, if requested, I will send via email

Kind regards
Niël

Very good gun.

There are three major manufacturers of 1911s in the Philippines. Of those three, Armscor (the makers of the Rock Island pistols) is the oldest. In the U.S. they have a reputation for being excellent entry-level 1911s.

Sir, I do not have a .40 but just picked up an RIA .45 cal. Very very good shooting pistol. As said above the RIA is made by armscor.

Good luck in your decision and IPSC shooting.

Thanks guys, my mind is pretty much made up, I'm buying it on Monday! Then I'llprobably wait 3 to 4 months for the permit. Currently I use a G17 in production class and I carry a G19, but somehow I fell in love with this gun I'm about to buy

Hi guys, so I have purchased the above mentioned gun. I have shot 50 rounds and it gave me numerous feeding issues. Any thoughts

Does the .40 have a ramped barrel, or a traditional 1911 frame feed ramp leading to a throated barrel? While that might make a difference, often the problem with feeding in a 1911 comes down to the magazine, or the extractor. If the extractor tension is too strong the rounds can't rise into position, if the extractor is too weak the rounds aren't controlled when feeding.

Can you describe the nature of the malfunctions?

If you can try para ordnance springs. Can you import springs from the usa? Wolff guns springs makes extra power springs for para guns.

I will get other springs once I took legal ownership of the gun. It will stay at the dealer instill next year sometime. I suspect a hard time getting spare mags for it

The 40 S&W isn't a real popular caliber in the 1911 platform which may make finding magazines a bit of a problem. As far as I know, only Colt, Springfield, Mec Gar and Wilson have magazines for a 40 S&W 1911.
