Arminius

I have a Arminius HW38 38 Special, serial number 531346. Anyone know anything about this gun and its worth?

Arminius was a variable quality manufacturer. Some of their products were quite good quality, others were bottom of the barrel. Use the sticky at the top of the forum to evaluate the revolver. If it checks out it's a good shooter. I've seen one Arminius (HW) .38 revolver that looked like an excellent quality firearm.

It doesn't have any collector value that I'm aware of.

Most Arminus firearms were questionable at best~! Cheaply made
in Germany, and best served using as a boat anchor. Just my 2 cents
worth.:o :D

BTW, my experience stemed from an Arminus "Burgo", which was an
8-shot .22LR caliber weapon with 'bout a 2-5/8" barrel. Heck, it felt
more like a brick, than a gun. Bought it NIB from the old K-Mart store
for $42.50 OTD.

I agree. They ranged from nicely finished and functional to POJ. They are NOT +P or +P+ safe. If you shoot SWCs in 115 gr target loads, there shouldn't be any problems develop. Parts & pieces are difficult to come by. The best use for Arminius single or double action revolvers is as a door stop. My past experiences have been negative.

I've got two of them. One, a .32 S&W Long with 4 inch barrel, has taken many a rabbit in the time that I've had it and another, a snubby in .38 has functioned flawlessly.

In fact, the .38 snub was the first gun I ever bought and since my collection has grown with better stuff, it still does it's duty as a "truck gun" or general knock about piece.

Better quality than the other cheap junk out there like RG, etc. No worth to them though. I paid 60 bucks for the 38 and 75 for the .32 back 10 years ago or so.

Fine shooters, though, if not a little on the heavy side for what they are.
