This happened about two weeks ago in Austria.
Armed man jumps out of his car at the red lights, forces neighboring car's driver to hand over about the equivalent of US$ 550 in cash, drives off.
LEO begin coordinated ring of checkpoints to find suspect based on vehicle description.
A patrol car reaches the designated point, LEOs get out, two motorcycles drive by. Then suspect going at high speed ignores stop signals. One of the officers shoots at the suspect car, but just as the shot goes off, the car pulls to the left to overtake the bikes. Bike rider is hit, stops and bleeds to death.
Roadblock is set up further down the road in response to the radio signals, suspect tires are shot out, suspect begins firefight with police and attempts to carjack a car with three children, but is stopped by a shot to the shoulder.
The other cars drivers stated on the internet that he was grateful to the police because he had no means of defense (Austria has practically no CCW...).
I replied asking if he would rather have had a gun himself, and if good Austrian citzens should be allowed CCW. I received email indicating a response from a third party, but could not find it on the forum - probably deleted by an administrator because of foul language...

I see no elephant in my cellar. If there were an elephant in my cellar, I would surely see it. Therefore, there is no elephant in my cellar.
