In my experience on a small city council, there is NOT enough support and far too much apathy to mobilize even one in a thousand, let alone the hope of mobilizing one in a hundred for actual armed defense of our Constitution and individual liberties. Furthermore, there are more than enough traitors and sympathizers in our midst to tell the enemy "he went that-a-way" or to make a back room or cell phone call whilst feeding a patriot at their table.

Maybe I'm overstating the direness or understating the percentage since many may be keeping a very low profile. But DANGIT, it would be a lot easier pulling the teeth of these big government regulatory types NOW and thus also finding out who they are, rather than later having to do it when they try to shove oppression down our throats at the point of their police powers.

$#**! After reading part one of this thread I'm convinced we have all of that among the members of this very board!

I'm afraid you are correct. Though I would likely count myself among the allied individuals in "Unintended Consequences", I'm afraid that alone I would be and, furthermore, be one of the first to be ferreted out, imprisoned and strung up or shot - simply because of my local reputation and participation on forums like this.

Thus the first weapon they have is an inhibitory effect upon us 1} conversing in any public place, especially on the internet, 2} writing letters to the editor regarding RKBA or Constitutional liberties, 3} being known to have guns or even to hunt, 4} getting together to hunt or even compete at a range, 5} even having a wife or kids for fear of them being turned against us by school counselors, social workers, etc. This latter is a real threat since even the accusation of abuse is enough to get our guns pawned or sold. If a restraining order is issued and you even touch, let alone own, a gun - you're screwed!

Thus, as was detailed in part one, they've LOTS of ways to get to us who have made the mistake of being too high profile. What's too high? Buying a box of .22 ammo in a Walmart. OR speaking out about Constitutional rights.
 
Until many, many more people stop watching the TeeVee most Americans will fall prey to the psychological warfare which is turning us into bewildered neurotics, making any sort of rebellion is impossible.
Everything that comes out of the mainstream is an insult to every American. Trying to be polite, we have restrained ourselves from expressing our indignation. After forty years of this we've become numbed and callous, insensitive to the outrages committed against us daily, unable to respond, able only to occasionally splutter in frustration. It is impossible to maintain the level of rage appropriate to the indignities we've endured without getting physically sick. We've got to go on with our lives, so we force ourselves to get used to it.
The reasons which make rebellion a moral imperative are the same reasons which make us unable to revolt: a forty year barrage of outrage compounded upon outrage, which has worn us down to the point of torpor. Nothing upsets us anymore. Our hearts have become calloused and our moral sensitivities numbed. Without outrage, there can be no effective action, and until people are able to express their justifiable anger with no sense of guilt, we're whipped already.

I think that what happens will depend on what pushs this country over the edge.If enough people are hurt when the pushing starts you will get more people but if it goes over with a wimper forget it.The best senario I could think of would be for Klinton-Gore to bring in UN troops to keep the peace for one reason or another.That would solidify a large portion of the population.WHether it would happen or not who knows.Even Klinton isn't that stupid!or is he?

DAMMIT SOLITAR!!! I am getting DAMN TIRED of reading threads with titles like "Armed Revolt". I mean, that is pretty foolish, as it puts you on the wrong side of about 10 existing laws right off the bat when what you intend (I hope) to say is "Armed Defense of the Constitution", you know, that part of our military oath where we all swore to "defend the constitution against all enemies, foreign AND DOMESTIC".

You have a good point. Although I didn't serve, I took The Oath in another setting - a non-government type group. (That's all I can say right now.)

I think a problem in our society is the fact that no one takes a sworn statement before GOD seriously anymore. Marriage vows mean very little these days, perjury is the equivilant of jaywalking, and I don't think many active-duty in our military really intend to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. However, I think alot of us here understand what it means.

I'm not accusing anyone here of anything, but I think we have gone along with the "news-speak" and socialist rhetoric on this and other subjects. How many of us use the term "assault rifle" to describe a semi-automatic rifle now? We should always try to think for ourselves and use the most appropriate terminology for what the issue is.

I am also guilty of using the term "revolt" when we should be calling it what it is...or probably will be: Armed DEFENSE of the Constitution.

This memorable quotation is from Sir Alex Fraser Tytler (1742-1813). Scottish jurist and historian, he was widely known in his time and was professor of Universal History at Edinburgh University in the late 18th century.

The quotation is from the 1801 collection of his lectures:

Actually, all we have to do is destroy or capture cable TV headends. The sheeple will BEG the government to repeal all gun laws etc. etc. if it means we will turn the cable back on.

I too have sometimes written a response to a title before reading the thread. As to your objection to the title...
1st - this part 2 really must have a title that plainly shows it is on the same topic as part 1.
2nd - okay maybe revolt is too strong a term. But what else would you call it?

See, they've got us apologizing for what they will call any defense of the Constitution. As councilman reviewing pending ordinances, my objection to blatant unconstitutional infringements of our liberties is received by several other councilmen as radical disregard of the public welfare and of supreme court decisions which permit such infringements. You can bet that when our side manages to get a voting majority and repeal in total some of these oppressive ordinances it will be viewed as a "revolt".

Colorado will soon be voting on yet another tax elimination initiative. There are many in local and state governments who are saying the passage of it will be a "taxpayer revolt" which will cause the end of government and even civilization as we know it. I, OTOH, am looking forward to privatizing fire, street and other services (except police). See http://taxcut2000.com/ for the text of this amendment.

Now as to your saying: "when what you intend (I hope) to say is "Armed Defense of the Constitution"," go back and read my initial post where I state: "actual armed defense of our Constitution and individual liberties."
 
Solitar: Hey, I'm on your side all the way, I just think that the title "Armed Revolt" makes the sheeple think we are crazed anarchists out to pull some evil deeds and harm our beloved leaders. Now in "defending the constitution" a whole pack of domestic enemies may for sure get their hair mussed up and maybe worse, but it do sound much more nicer! ;)
 
Talk Talk Talk.

Just look in our history and the path is clear. It starts with the Constitutional Correpondents and then follows on to the Sons of Liberty. We just need to start organizing a little. This board is a start for one. Do an Internet search for Sons of Liberty and read the information and think about what's next.

The next step is as simple as saying "I belong". We are already in the partial stage of the Constitutional Correspondents with discussions on boards like this. Next we decide on local leaders. They coordinate with others and ...voila.

I also took that oath when I went in the service and I still believe in it.I feel that we have plenty of domestic enemies right here in this country and a lot of them are in this nations capital and new york city.I'm going to vote in about 2 weeks,hopefuly to start on getting rid of some of them.
 
Better one person willing to write letters, than a hundred who think they will blow away the people that "come for their guns."

The majority of people in this country don't favor taking away our guns. Let's keep it that way, by practical action, and spend a little less time discussing this kind of thing. It doesn't do any good.
