Armed Citizens Legal Defense Network(no CHL needed)

A few years ago I saw information on this organization and looked them up. At that time they required a CHL(or whatever your state calls it) for membership. Since I do not have a CHL I promply forgot about them, until today.

On another thread fiddletown recommended(to another member) looking up cases regarding Harold Fish, Larry Hickey and Mark Abshire, so I did.

This is one of the things I found:

After I read the article I perused their website and under FAQ's found this:

(see last question)

They no longer require a CHL for membership.

Requirements:
- clean criminal background
-18 years of age and not legally prohibited from owning a firearem
-legally reside in the U.S.

I plan on joining this week, hate to admit, but SWMBO has to be consulted. Hopefully I will never need them but having an organization like this available to ALL legal gun owners is, IMHO, absolutely great.

Monkey95:

You are absolutely correct, regarding no CHL required. When we first instituted that requirement, (first year) we wanted to be sure that no convicted felons were part of the Network. After recieving several questions and complaints regarding the policy, we ran the issue by our Advisory board, afterwhich we changed the policy.

As an update on the ACLDN, we now have over 4700 members, and over $165,000 in our legal defense fund. Not a bad start from 4 years ago, when we had no members and no money!

If anyone has questions regarding the Network, I will monitor this thread for a while, and try to get those questions answered.
