Armalite Lowers

I'm looking at buying an Armalite M15A4T and I was wondering if anyone has had problems mating other manufacturers uppers to the Armalite lowers? Are they mil-spec?

The reason is that I also want a 16" upper but I don't like anything else that Armalite makes. Will probably go with a Bushmaster or ZM if I can get the cash for it.

I've got an Armalite lower on my J&T parts beast, and I have no problems. In fact, the Armalite has worked with every type of magazine around, including the finicky Orlites. A buddy's Bushmaster lower had problems with anything other than the aluminium mags.

The Armalite parts are very good quality, but some people don't like the funky brake at the end of the barrel. I'd put Armalite quality quite a bit higher than Bushmaster.
