ARMALITE AR10

As I understand it, they are good rifles, with similar strong/weak points to the AR15 system. High capacity magazines are expensive. I'm not sure how reliable they are, but I would imagine they would be about like an AR15.

If you like the AR-15 design, you should be happy with an AR-10. I like mine. It's been very reliable. Good acuracy. Not much recoil. The only issue I have with it is the muzzle brake. Makes it VERY loud. I've never shot one without a muzzle brake, so I don't know if I would prefer to keep the brake or lose it. Not really an option, as they all come with one permanently attached.

My AR-10A4 carbine is a flat top. I figured a .308 is a scoped rifle. At 100yds. the front sight on my Bushmaster AR-15 is wider than a six inch target. the range of a .308 goes well beyond that, making a scope the only practical solution for me.

i too have an ar-10a2
after resolving some feed problem issues, mine rock n rolls!!!
i would not have purchased one except for the fact that it came with 5 extra 20rd mags. (and i paid less than $1k for the pkg!!)
yes the mags are a bit pricey, however, armalite is now offering mag kits.
this enables you to utilize parts from your m-1a mags and install in their mag bodies. the cost (iirc) is $30 per kit.
what they say on their web site http://www.armalite.com is that to maintain post-ban compliancey you must have stock m-1a mags in hand , some mumbo jumbo legalease clause stuff???
so if you had a few m-1a mags laying aroung (even some cheap aftermarket ones) you could use them to work.

GET ONE!!!!

AR10 is a great firearm.
Mine, the AR10A4 Carbine, had trouble blowing primers at the get go but Armalite did their thing and it shoots like a champ ever since. Slapped a bi-pod on it and bang steel targets at 400-500 yards with iron sights.
Just got the AR10T upper and have a Mark 4 Leupold on the way!
Two great guns.....one lower!
Have at it....
