To all Arizona TFL'ers:
HB2095 the preemption bill is bottled up in the Senate Rules Committee. Call your State Senator NOW and tell Him/Her that you want this bill passed and sent to the Governor. This is important!!!!!!

More importantly, you need to contact your DISTRICT Senator and have them push the bill forward. I live in District 16, and Senator Darden Hamilton is a supporter of this bill. If your Senator is not, you can do WORLDS of good by making just one phone call, or spending the time for just one e-mail - they listen. I have received responses within hours of sending e-mail and it works.

Go to the AZ State Legislature homepage to find your district reps (House and Senate) and make your voice heard!

[Can't find the link at home, but will add it tomorrow, sorry...]

If its anything like the Colorado preemption bill, it preempts local gun ordinances that are more restrictive than state ordinances. The NRA has been pushing preemption bills in many of the state legislatures this season.

HB2095 strengthens the Arizona Preemption law. It makes it illegal for cities and towns to enact laws forbiding the right to keep and bear arms. It places this power in the hands of the legleslature where it belongs. To read what it is all about for yourself, go to www.azleg.state.az.us
Click on the "bills" icon, and type in "HB2095". It will take you right to it.

Great link, Denfoote. Here's my letter to them (and to friends/relatives who will also contact the AZ State senate):

Law-abiding Arizona gun-owners need your support to pass this legislation as-is to protect our State Constitution-granted right to open and licensed concealed carry. Your decision to support this bill keeps the power in the State Legislature, where it belongs.

Please get this bill past committee and onto the Governor's desk to be signed into law. A strengthening of the current Preemption procedures is required to keep state law functioning the way it was intended; state-wide.

Thank you for your assistance with this legislation, and my family and I will see you at the polls,
