Mesa shooting range fights bill - Says provisions could force club to close or move
By Robbie Sherwood

"MacEachern said she believes the changes in the bill were made to appease a
powerful state senator who owns land next to the range that he wants to develop. "
"Senate Majority Leader Rusty Bowers is petitioning Maricopa County, which oversees
the park and contracts with Rio Salado to run the range, for permission to use a utility
road next to the range to access his property. "
"If granted, the county would have to upgrade the road to minimize its liability, a move
that would increase the likelihood of development and the value of the 40 acres that
Bowers and his family own."
Please investigate the influence that Senate Majority Leader Rusty Bowers has exerted on this bill and ensure that it
is being passed 'on-the-level'. It is frustrating to think that a local valley shooting range would be closed down due to
the elitism exhibited by one legislator trying to gain development value in his privately owned land. This kind of fiasco
is very damaging to the state legislative system, as you can well imagine.
I trust that you will give this due diligence and my family and I will see you at the polls,
