Dave, if you could interview your wife's aunt and get her story on paper, please do. If you don't want to write the final version alone several forumites would probably be glad to help. I would, though there are much better writers here.
I wish so much that I had gotten my great-grandfather's life story down before he died. I was a stupid teenager who thought his stories, told over and over, were boring. The man was one of the first farmers in Illinois to take a chance on a funny Chinese crop called a "soybean," and the two or three of them, near Decatur, IL, ended up founded a huge ag industry that now runs much of Illinois in one form or another. I've done a couple of really bad things in my life and dismissing that old man's stories was probably the worst. The only thing that makes it any better is that I was respectful to him and I listened, sort of, but he deserved more than that.
Can you imagine what it'll feel like if your wife's aunt dies and HER story is forgotten? Sorry to get like that on the forum but please think about it. I'm feeling pretty low right now so I'm going to head over to my meeting.
