Argentine M1927 ?

I have an opportunity to purchase an Argentine M1927 for $425.00. This is a Colt copy that was produced in Argentina under contract with Colt. This particular example has been reblued (very good job of it) and the frame to slide/slide to barrel fit is very tight. I'm not really up on the price of surplus arms. Is this a fair deal ?

Too high, if re-blued. Offer $100 less. I've got one and I reeeeally like it, but not for that much. Do all the numbers match? Plan on a trigger job at least. Mine is a great shooter, and functions flawlessly. My slide was re-blued and destroyed the collector value of the gun. Everything else origional.

Thanks for the opinions guys. I've decided to pass on the deal. All of the numbers do match, including the magazine. I told the dealer that I'd go for $375.00 but he wouldn't budge. He told me that the M1927 wouldn't stay on the shelf for long. Perhaps in six months I can talk him down. Seems that since Colt closed the doors most dealers think that *all* 1911s will sell like hot cakes.

Interesting, in that Colt has not "closed its doors" and one pistol they will continue to make is the Government Model. They recently announced that they will continue to make the 1991A1 as well.

Even if Colt stopped making the 1911 types, only a nut would pay more for a Colt copy with thousands of examples already in existence.

That's good to hear !

I bet I could definitely talk him down to a reasonable price in a few months, if I'm still interested that is. :)
