Argentine "knock-off" Colt 45 ACP?

I didn't catch the full name of the manufacturer of this pistol. The seller said it's a circa 1941 1911 made in Argentina for Colt. I'm going to take a look at it tonight. Anyone have any info?

Make sure its a Sistema. A Sistema is a Colt-licensed gun, built on Colt machinery to then (pre-WWII) Colt standards. They're made of good steel and are as good as any 1911 made by a Colt factory. All parts are interchangeable with other factory Colts and 1911 clones.

They're available in very good condition for anywhere from $250-$400. I've seen them recently in SHot Gun News for about $350.

Be sure it isn't a Ballestar Molina or Ballestar Rigaud. Those are Colt knock offs, and not bad guns, but few parts are interchangeable, and upgrading or repairs could be a problem. They frequently shoot very well, though.

I could be a M1916 (Equivalent to a 1911[on colt machinery) or a M1927 (equivalent to a 1911A1 [sort of, no grip safety, pivoting trigger])
They were made by various subcontractors for "HAFDASA"

A friend has an old M1927 and to look at, you would think it a very poor handgun. Looking down the bore the rifling seems to be little more than an impression. But he can really shoot it well.

young Kiwi:

You rang a bell ...He did say it did not have the grip safety and had a pivoting trigger. He also said the condition was fair with most of the bluing worn off.

DON'T BUY IT UNLESS IT IS A SISTEMA 1927. I HAVE ONE THAT I JUST REEEALLY LIKE. SOUNDS LIKE HE IS SELLING A B/M AND THAT IS NOT THE SAME THING. PARTS ARE NOT THE SAME AND ACTION IS DIFFERENT.
