Argentine Hi Powers: The Next Sistemas?

I missed out on the Sistema Colt thing, but now I see that SOG has Argentine Hi Powers for sale. Has anyone seen one up close?

I'm hoping that they are worth the money because: a) I never bought a Sistema, and I can only find them for $500+, and b) the last Hi Power I owned was not a good shooter.

I'm trying hard to be a fan of the Hi Power, maybe this will be the pistol that does it for me.

I've not handled one but you can rest assured they will be in used, well used but maybe not abused condition. If you want a throw away shooter, they will probably work for you but I think there are better ways to spend your money.

Here's a vote for the FEG, although YMMV. I think I'm up to about 3500 rounds through mine. They're an honest-to-God bargain.

My local gun dealer has a Systema in the case for $375. Last time I checked, JLD still had some coming in from Argentina at $300. Don't give up on them yet.

feg hi-power

I've had the argentine, browning, and feg, all three excellant guns, the argentine I thought the safety was to small, and the browning was too expensive. The feg couple of years ago, 155.00 nib. kept that one swapped the other two. Put about 2000 rnds so far and still working fine and accuracy seems good.

Query: Are Argentine HPs fully interchangable with 'milspec' HPs, the way that Sistemas are interchangable with milspec colts? Are FEGs?

(Before anyone points this out, I'm aware that there are no US military 'milspec' Hi-powers...I trust, though that the intent is understandable? Are the parts fully interchangable with a BHP?)

Thanks,
Mike
