Are you a Traitor......or a Patriot??

For the sake of argument, let me pose a statement and then a question:

THE STATEMENT:
Would most of you agree that there has been a steady erosion over the last century of our individual Constitutional rights and Civil Liberties. Would you also agree that both the Constitution and the Bill of Rights have been bastardized to the point of being unrecognizable from the original concept, by both the Republican and the Democratic Parties, not to mention the Supreme Court. If you agree to this...................

THE QUESTION:
Would a vote for either Al Gore or George Bush be not only, anti-constitutional but a traitorous act against the United States of America? Would you, by that simple vote, be aiding and abetting a traitor? Or is that vote a constitutional right?

Interesting concept, eh!!!

Remember, as a veteran, I swore an oath to "defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies, both foreign and domestic". To the best of my knowledge, I was never released from that oath. For my conscience to be clear, and my values to be justified, I must know that the person I vote for recognizes every aspect of our Constitution, and will not stray from that path! I don't have to justify my voting stance...........Do you?????

Just my humble opinion, Fellas!!!!

------------------
Donnez-moi la liberté, ou donnez-moi la mort!

-also swore the same oath
-the more I learn the tougher it is to continue supporting the present sceme of things
-agree with you about gorebush/bushgore, they are just two sides to the same counterfeit coin

"For my conscience to be clear, and my values to be justified, I must know that the person I vote for recognizes every aspect of our Constitution, and will not stray from that path!"

Yep. That same line of reasoning led me away from the Republicrats. Its the old mulberry bush here at TFL again, but I say vote your conscience....

No one seems to care about the Constitution. Ask any Republicrat where Congress gets authority to field the war on drugs, fund a department of education, or Medicare, or Social Security, and you'll get a blank stare and they'll likely look at you as if you're a nut.

As noted in other threads, public schools teach students that the Constitution doesn't mean what it says. "Yeah, that part about the right of the people, they really meant the power of the state, those founders weren't very literate you know."

I agree with you, but unfortunately but it's hard to remain optimistic. But also I know that on the Presidential level my vote is completely meaningless.
