Thank you for your advice :D

I think you mean Winchester. I have no experience with them. I just figured I'd point out that Remington does not make a model 1300, at least as far as I know.

They are pretty good shotguns, high capacity with 18" barrel is a great HD combo I would say, plus the Winchester name would suggest it is a good investment, if not a Remington Marine Magnum.

I've had the pleasure of popping some slugs through one before, very smooth trigger and pump, I was pleased. They are moderately priced too, which I noticed is ONLY in the shotgun department.

It's one mean powerful firearm! I hang mine on a tree outside of my camper on my mountain property. (just in case a black bear gets offensive)
I heard it's one of the favorites with the guides in Alaska. Shooting slugs out of a 18" barrel will put some bruises on your shoulder after awhile.

I have one and love it. I've never had a single problem with it. Only thing I would recomend doing, is adding on a side-saddle shell holder, which you can get for around $30. It greatly increases the utility of the weapon.

I had one and it wasn't for me. That being said, the guy I sold it to loves it.

There are solid choices out there and the 1300 is certainly one of them.

I've had mine for over a year and shoot at least once a month. Get a Limb Saver butt pad, reduced the shoulder slam a lot.Mine has never malfunctioned in any way. ;)

one question: are the barrels interchangeable? i am concidering this and the "practical defender model. looking for a shotgun that can go to the range to shoot clays and to keep in the house.

I have a Defender and I shoot clays with it. It works pretty well for short range. I would like a 28" barrel for it. I hear that you can use 1200 as well as 1300 barrels for it. I am looking for one myself, I just need the money. If anyone out there is selling I would like to know. Hope this helps.

Yes, the 1300 is an amazing pump gun. VERY fast smooth and reliable. I've not had a single malfunction in 5 yrs....

I shot 8 slug shells (just messing around) as fast as I could pump them and it pushed me back about 12 feet. Wheew!! mean power!! A good squirrel gun

My 1200 is the best pump shotgun I've ever owned :D

Military used it during Vietnam.. and it was reliable in the jungles, so it works for me.

I'm saving to buy a 28" barrel with a modified choke, so I can do trap with it ;)

//EDIT

Yes, you can use 1200 and 1300 barrels interchangably.

I've had mine for 5 years, and have put over 26,000 rounds through it with skeet and sporting clays. I've broken the slide twice where the slide arms contact the bolt and I had to replace the trigger group because the pin wouldn't stay put, but that was around the 19,000 mark.

I'm really happy with it.
