SB23 states the following is an assault weapon:

"A semiautomatic pistol that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and any one of the following:

(A) A threaded barrel, capable of accepting a flash suppressor, forward handgrip, or silencer..."

Am I missing something or are USP tacticals and Mark 23's now verbotten in Cali?

the grooved trigger gaurd on many pistols could be interpreted as a forward handgrip

they want them all

12276.1 (a) Notwithstanding Section 12276, "assault weapon" shall also mean any of the following:
4) A semiautomatic pistol that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and any one of the following:
(A) A threaded barrel, capable of accepting a flash suppressor, forward handgrip, or silencer.
(B) A second handgrip.

So they are after the Styer TMP...
The MAC 10
The Uzi.
And every other gun you may have or want.

The problem i see with all this compliant stock legal gerrymandering
is that the elected representatives goal is the complete removal of all semiauto weapons from CA.

The intent of the law is to restrict the ownership of semiautos from the civilian, non LEO population.
We escaped this fate temporarily, when the 94 ban was to narrow in description,
It failed to have the desire legal goal because it was based on the visual appearance of current examples.
The market adjusted and CA had a postban window of 6 years to buy semiautos.
Now the law has returned with enough legal teeth to ban you from inheriting a legally owned family gun in CA.

As i said before, combine SB-23 with the language in Florida's Bill,
and we have the binding formula to insure that "the Militia" is only armed with technology from 2 centuries ago!

>listed are ~ 45 specific guns including:
>e. Colt AR-15 series.
>later on they define "series":

>For purposes of this paragraph, the term "series" includes all

The only way we can stop this trend is to give any Politician
who steps anywhere near this Unconstitutional BS,
the electorial Tar & feather treatment

Meanwhile the Million Mom March for gun control, on Mothers day in DC
will have 9,936 more participants than the DC March for Liberty
(we were out numbered by men in red dresses)

Don't dispair, guys. Colorado's SB89 has (almost) the exact same laguage - to the word! - as does CA's SB23 & FL's HB363 re "assault weapon" definition.

You think it'll stop w/semi-autos? Remember,
a revolver is technically a semi-auto (fires one shot w/one pull of the trigger & "automatically" positions a round, ready to fire, by the mechanism's action) - so get ready for that.

Hearing rumblings about those "militarypatern sniper rifles" too. Maybe we can get the hunters to join in once their ox is gored.

Lots of countries already ban ANY firearm that can fire a "military-endorsed" cartridge - new high-powered rounds like .45-70, .30-40 Krag ... shall I go on?

Let's all hold hands & say "incrementalism" - thought you could. They get this today & they'll want more tomorrow.
