Are Things Changing??

It is changing, but to me it's 'One Step Forward, Ten Years Back', when a handful of politicians cave in to hysteria and a restricting law gets passed.

I believe things are changing, but not all in the same direction. While we see tons of guns and ammo being sold, our numbers don't increase unless it is first time gun buyers buying them. Doesn't help anything when a long time gunowner buys ten guns, but the economy. I also see many first time gun buyers, especially those looking for SD and hunting type firearms, that have no problem with UBCs and restrictions on mag capacity, etc.

Yes things are looking up in some States like where I live in Georgia. However, in the most recent governor’s election the person most likely to support the Second Amendment defeated the person most likely to support gun control by approximately 200K out of 2.5 million votes cast. So yes were doing ok, but if demographic trends in population continue and party affiliation trends by demographics groups stay the same we could be looking at catastrophic losses of gun rights in the not too distant future.

It has to be grass roots education. Take the small risk of talking to the anti-gunners, taking them to the range, dispelling the media induced fear.

I put a gun in the hands of 4 youth and about a dozen adults this year for their first time touching a gun. Some of the adults were anti-gun, some even visibly shook in fear. Still working on a few of them, but most are now converted. When you take a 4th gen Chicago Democrat who is 45 and against ALL guns who now owns an AR and is questioning all manner of what he has followed politically his entire life...that does more good that arguing with them on the internet. He has 3 friends who want to go to the range after Christmas.

I take comfort in the fact that you always hear of people who used to be anti-gun but then went to a range with a friend or had a crime committed against them and suddenly saw the value of our 2A rights.
You rarely hear of 2A supporters suddenly selling off their guns and going to donate to the Brady bunch.

We seem to bring more antis to our side and fence sitters as well than the other way around.
