Are these real stag?

Hi,
I'm thinking about buying a Colt SAA, and I've been looking at a particular one, but I can't tell if the grips are some kind of imitation, or if they're real stag. It's a pawn shop that is selling the Colt, so they have no idea.

Is there any way to be able to tell? Or could someone tell me by looking at the pictures below?

These are actual pictures of the Colt I am considering:

IF the owner will let you, you can always use the "red hot needle" test. If it melts, it ain't real stag (or bone, or ivory . . .). Remove the grips & touch a red hot pin or needle to the inside surface. You won't ruin the grip's appearance, if it is synthetic.

Oh, use pliers to hold the red hot pin . . .

I'm willing to bet they are real...there's a certain look to the grooves in stag, and those have it...(hard to explain what I mean) but that'd be my bet..

HOw much for it?

What is the price for this Colt? Stag grips would add a fair amount to the value as they must be (should be) hand fit to the gun. And are expensive these days. What generation and cal? Just curious.

Thanks everyone for the replies.

Scbair,
Thank you for the "red hot needle" test info. That sounds like a good idea.

Tom2,
It is a 3rd Generation Colt SAA.
