I'm currently undergoing the application process. I only applied about a year ago, and I think I'm nearing the end of the tunnel. The government must be running in overdrive.

I've certainly been doing a lot of research on the job and might be able to answer some questions.

Hello I'm not Border Patrol but I am with the Department of the Army Civilian Police. I have been working this for more than 15 years so I did not go to Ft. Leonard Wood but did go to FLETC. As I understand the Border Patrol uses both Glynco, GA and Artesia, NM for the FLETC Schools. I went to Glynco. Enjoy the training, it will be tough. USBP has one of the toughest programs there from what I hear. I originally graduated FLETC in the 1990s and was there in 2009 for a Firearms Instructors program.

Congrats Polinese! I think all the new recruits go out to Artesia these days. You'll be working in the desert, might as well train there too.

To introduce some firearms into this thread, I believe you'll be issued an HK P2000 when you arrive.

python, I believe GLYNCO trains 80something agencies, but I believe border patrol is not one of them and they go to NM. Then again, it is possible initial training is always in NM and that sometimes down the road some border patrol agents can go to GLYNCO for whatever reason...sort of like how some agencies start in GA and then later on down the road might go to CO, MS, etc,etc

I'm going to research it though; it is very possible you are correct. FBI is Quantico obviously(in VA), but I am not positive about border patrol
