Are the 700 rem triggers interchangable?

I have a 700 remington with the new X-mark pro trigger and hate it! If I found an old style trigger would it fit in my gun?
 
I too have a rem 700 VSF with an X mark pro trigger. They will go down to three lbs for about $30 at a local gun smith. I also hated it and dropped some dough on a Jewell. I remember reading something on the web about if the m-700 was made before 2005 the trigger is unique. Just save your self the trouble. Start looking for a trigger you want, the company selling it will tell you if it will fit your m-700. FYI, I recommend you get a replacement with a bolt release and a safety. Yes those things are optional. I have listed my left handed X-mark Pro on this forum, for $40 and not a soul wants it. Good luck

What, exactly, does "unique" in this context mean? Does it mean that the newer triggers won't fit into 700s made before 2005?
 
What I remember reading is that sometime close to 2005, or 2006 a change was made. (in reference to trigger interchangeability). I highly recommend when replacing the trigger to know rifle data such as year and model when shopping around for that new trigger.
 
NRA-guns- Winner; I too am a lefty. I may be interested in your trigger.
I may take mine apart and fine tune it if possible. If I wreck it. I'll need a replacement
