I want to sell my Ishapore Enfield in .308 and want to know if it is a C&R gun. I have my C&R license and would like to sell it to anyone who wants it. I just want to make sure it is legal for me to sell it as a C&R gun.
I am going to bring it home from the parents gun safe today and take some pictures. It is a decent gun and shoots well, I just don't like it that much. I will get back to you.
They're a real nice gun. I use mine for hunting. Sporterized, of course. You might want to rethink selling it. I think mine weighs in under 6lbs sporterized. Great for all day carry in the woods. But I don't think they are C&R. Mine is a 1967.
I would rethink selling it too, as even VG ones are worth about $85-100.
Better to continue to shoot it at that price.
Sporterized version are sometimes enough to void C&R status and sure as hell
aren't collectors items. Merely worth the parts value except for the very best conversions.
Keep in mind that if you are selling WITHIN the state of CA that the C&R rules are slightly more restrictive than the federal - a C&R MUST be more than 50 years old, whether or not it's on the ATF list.
