Are Benelli nova/supernova ghost ring sights removable?

Hey I was just wondering if the Ghost rings on a tactical Nelli were removable or not or if it took gunsmithing. Im trying to make up a 2 barrel system.

Does anyone think it would work out if I removed the rear ghost ring and used the front ghost ring post as a bead, or is it much too high for this to work?

I believe they are held in position by two screws, although I've never tried removing mine. I would think think the front sight by itself would be much to high to function as a bead with no rear sight. That rear sight sits up a ways on the receiver.
